Website Not Loading - Common Causes and Solutions
Website Not Loading
If your website is not loading, there are several common causes and solutions to try.
Check Your Domain DNS
Ensure your domain is pointing to the correct nameservers:
- ns1.hostdeal.com
- ns2.hostdeal.com
DNS changes can take up to 24-48 hours to propagate globally.
Check if the Server is Online
Log into your Hub account and check your service status. If the server is experiencing issues, you'll see a notification.
Browser Cache
Try clearing your browser cache or testing in an incognito/private window. Old cached data can sometimes show outdated content.
Check .htaccess File
A misconfigured .htaccess file can cause your site to stop loading. In DirectAdmin:
- Go to File Manager
- Navigate to public_html
- Look for .htaccess (enable "Show Hidden Files")
- Rename it temporarily to .htaccess.bak to test
PHP Errors
Enable error display temporarily to see what's happening:
- In DirectAdmin, go to PHP Settings
- Set display_errors to On
- Reload your website to see any PHP errors
