Securing Your Account with 2FA

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Hostdeal Hub account.

What is 2FA?

With 2FA enabled, logging in requires:

1. Your password (something you know)
2. A code from your phone (something you have)

Even if someone gets your password, they can't access your account without your phone.

Setting Up 2FA

1. Log into Hostdeal Hub
2. Go to Account → Security
3. Find Two-Factor Authentication
4. Click Enable
5. Install an authenticator app on your phone:
   • Google Authenticator (iOS/Android)
   • Authy (iOS/Android)
   • Microsoft Authenticator
6. Scan the QR code with your app
7. Enter the code displayed in your app
8. Click Verify

Save Your Backup Codes

After enabling 2FA, you'll receive backup codes:

• Save these codes securely!
• Use them if you lose access to your phone
• Each code can only be used once
• Store them somewhere safe (not on your phone)

Logging In with 2FA

1. Enter your email and password
2. Open your authenticator app
3. Enter the 6-digit code shown
4. Code changes every 30 seconds

Lost Your Phone?

If you lose access to your authenticator:

1. Use one of your backup codes
2. Or contact support with identity verification

Disabling 2FA

1. Go to Account → Security
2. Click Disable 2FA
3. Enter a code to confirm
