How to Configure IP Blocking in DirectAdmin

Protect your account from unauthorized access attempts.
Viewing Blocked IPs
- Log into DirectAdmin
- Look for Brute Force Monitor or similar
- View currently blocked IPs
How Blocking Works
DirectAdmin automatically blocks IPs after multiple failed login attempts. This protects against:
- Password guessing attacks
- Brute force attempts
- Automated hacking scripts
Unblocking an IP
If your IP gets blocked accidentally:
- Wait for the block to expire (usually 10-30 minutes)
- Use a different network/IP to access
- Contact support to unblock your IP
Preventing Lockouts
- Use a password manager to avoid typos
- Enable two-factor authentication if available
- Note your IP in case you need to whitelist it
Additional Security
Consider enabling:
- Two-factor authentication
- Strong password requirements
- Login notifications
