How to Configure Email in Apple Mail (Mac)
Setting Up Apple Mail
Add your Hostdeal email to the Mail app on macOS.
Setup Steps
- Open Mail
- Go to Mail > Add Account
- Select Other Mail Account
- Click Continue
- Enter your name, email, and password
- Click Sign In
If Automatic Setup Fails
You'll be prompted for manual settings:
Account Type
Select IMAP
Incoming Mail Server
- Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- Username: your@domain.com
- Password: Your password
Outgoing Mail Server
- Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- Username: your@domain.com
- Password: Your password
SSL Settings
After adding the account:
- Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts
- Select your account
- Click Server Settings
- Ensure SSL is enabled for both incoming and outgoing
Port Settings
- IMAP: 993 (SSL)
- SMTP: 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)
