How to Create an Email Forwarder

Forwarding Email to Another Address

Automatically send copies of incoming emails to another address.

Creating a Forwarder

  1. Log into DirectAdmin
  2. Click Email Forwarders
  3. Enter the email address to forward FROM
  4. Enter the destination email address
  5. Click Create

Types of Forwarders

Forward and Keep Copy

The email is forwarded AND saved in the original mailbox.

Forward Only

The email is forwarded and NOT saved locally. Useful for aliases.

Common Uses

  • Catch-all: Forward all unknown addresses to one inbox
  • Multiple recipients: Send sales@ to multiple team members
  • Backup: Keep a copy at your personal Gmail
  • Department aliases: support@ forwards to support team

Forwarding to Gmail

If forwarding to Gmail, you may need to verify the forward:

  1. Set up the forwarder
  2. Send a test email
  3. Check Gmail spam folder if not received

Removing a Forwarder

  1. Go to Email Forwarders
  2. Find the forwarder
  3. Click Delete
