How to Set Up an Email Autoresponder

Creating Automatic Replies

Send automatic responses when you receive email (vacation messages, confirmations, etc.).

Creating an Autoresponder

  1. Log into DirectAdmin
  2. Click Email Autoresponders
  3. Select the email address
  4. Click Create Autoresponder
  5. Enter your message
  6. Set start and end dates (optional)
  7. Click Create

Autoresponder Settings

  • From: Your email address
  • Subject: Subject line for auto-reply
  • Message: The automatic response text
  • Start/End Date: When to activate (optional)

Example Vacation Message

Thank you for your email!
I am currently out of the office with limited access to email.
I will return on [DATE] and respond to your message then.
For urgent matters, please contact [ALTERNATE CONTACT].
Best regards,
[Your Name]

Best Practices

  • Keep messages professional and brief
  • Include when you'll return
  • Provide alternate contact for urgent matters
  • Remember to turn it off when you return!
  • Don't include sensitive information

Note on Spam

Autoresponders typically don't reply to messages marked as spam or bulk email.
