Why Am I Not Receiving Emails?
Troubleshooting Missing Emails
If you're not receiving emails, follow these steps to diagnose the issue.
Step 1: Check Spam/Junk Folder
Legitimate emails often end up in spam. Check your:
- Webmail spam folder
- Email client spam/junk folder
Step 2: Verify Mailbox Quota
- Log into DirectAdmin
- Go to Email Accounts
- Check if your mailbox is full
- Delete old emails or increase quota
Step 3: Check Email Filters/Forwarders
Make sure you don't have:
- Filters deleting or moving emails
- Forwarders sending mail elsewhere
Step 4: Verify MX Records
If using an external domain, ensure MX records point to Hostdeal.
Step 5: Check Blacklists
The sender's server might be blacklisted. Ask them to check their IP reputation.
Step 6: Test with Another Sender
Send a test email from Gmail or another provider to see if it arrives.
Common Causes
- Full mailbox
- Aggressive spam filtering
- Incorrect MX records
- Email filters/rules
- Sender's server issues
Still Not Working?
Contact support with:
- Your email address
- Sender's email address
- Date/time email was sent
- Any error messages the sender received
