Troubleshooting Domain Not Working
Fixing Domain Connection Issues
If your domain isn't loading your website, follow these steps.
Step 1: Check DNS Propagation
Use whatsmydns.net to see if your DNS has propagated:
- Green checks = propagated
- Red X = not yet propagated
Step 2: Verify Nameservers
Ensure nameservers at your registrar point to Hostdeal.
Step 3: Check DirectAdmin
- Is the domain added in Domain Setup?
- Is there content in public_html?
- Are there any error messages?
Step 4: Clear DNS Cache
On your computer:
- Windows: ipconfig /flushdns
- Mac: sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder
Step 5: Try Different Network
Test from mobile data or another network to rule out local caching.
Common Issues
- Nameservers not updated: Wait 48 hours
- Domain not added: Add in DirectAdmin
- No website files: Upload to public_html
- SSL issue: Check certificate status
