How to Add a Favicon in WordPress
Setting Your Site Icon
A favicon is the small icon shown in browser tabs.
Using WordPress Customizer
- Go to Appearance → Customize
- Click Site Identity
- Click Select site icon
- Upload your icon image
- Crop if needed
- Click Publish
Image Requirements
- Minimum 512x512 pixels
- Square shape
- PNG format recommended
- Transparent background (optional)
Creating a Favicon
- Use your logo simplified
- Keep it simple - it's displayed very small
- Use tools like Canva or favicon.io

- Browser tabs
- Bookmarks
- Mobile home screen (if saved)
- Browser history
Favicon Not Showing?
- Clear browser cache
- Check file size (not too large)
- Verify file format
- Wait - browsers cache aggressively
